  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups nonpareil sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll them in sprinkles until fully coated.
  7. Place on prepared baking sheets, spacing them at least 1½ inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 9-10 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  9. Let cool completely on baking sheets before transferring.
