  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped dark chocolate bar or chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until just combined.
  3. Gradually mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until almost combined. Fold in dark chocolate and crushed candy canes.
  4. Scoop two tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least three hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake frozen cookie dough balls for about 9–10 minutes until slightly underbaked.
  6. Press additional crushed candy canes and chocolate chips on top while warm.
