  • ¼ cup almond milk or milk of choice
  • 4 tbsp salted vegan butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Bob’s Red Mill Egg Replacer (mixed with 3 tbsp water)
  • ¼ cup agave nectar (or vegan honey)
  • 2 tbsp salted vegan butter or butter of choice
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar (or vegan honey)
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp salted vegan butter or butter of choice
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar (or vegan honey)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 23 tbsp almond milk or milk of choice
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Cooking spray (for air frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve sugar in warm almond milk and sprinkle in the yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Combine melted vegan butter, remaining almond milk, vanilla extract, and egg replacer mixture in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Knead gently until smooth.
  5. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
  7. Fry in vegetable oil over medium heat until golden brown or air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking together melted vegan butter, agave nectar, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and almond milk until smooth; drizzle over warm buns.
