Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder (or 23 cloves minced garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon mixed dried herbs (like rosemary, thyme, and parsley)
  • 12 jalapeños, diced (to taste)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 ounces beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and dried herbs.
  3. Fold in the diced jalapeños and shredded cheddar cheese until coated with flour.
  4. Gradually pour in the beef broth and stir until just combined—some lumps are okay!
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top evenly.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown; check for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Let cool for ten minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
