  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200C/400F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the milk with white vinegar and let it sit for 10 minutes to curdle.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually mix in the curdled milk until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently about 8-10 times until slightly sticky.
  6. Shape the dough into a dome, cut an 'X' on top for steam release, then place on a lined baking tray.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Cool completely before slicing.
