  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cubed for cookies)
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and arrange saltine crackers in an even layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until bubbly. Pour over crackers and bake for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips, and cool in the freezer.
  4. Brown the cubed butter in another saucepan until golden and nutty; let cool slightly.
