  • ½ cup apple butter
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple butter (for glazing)
  • 23 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; set aside.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and apple butter until smooth.
  3. Blend in the egg yolk and vanilla until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 1 – 2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop dough onto the prepared sheet, spacing them three inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 -12 minutes; cool on a rack before glazing.
  9. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with apple butter and milk until smooth; dip cooled cookies into the glaze.
