  • 8 oz ground chicken
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup Thai basil or regular basil
  • 1 medium red chili, chopped
  • 1 medium mild hot green pepper, chopped
  • Avocado oil for cooking
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or 2 teaspoons liquid honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chili sauce or sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon plant-based oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable broth
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 23 stalks of green onion, for garnish
  • More basil leaves
  • Sesame seeds
  • 2 fried eggs

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping garlic and green chilies.
  2. In a nonstick pan, heat avocado oil over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onions until soft, then add garlic and green chili.
  3. Add ground chicken and cook until no longer pink.
  4. Stir in sauces along with chopped red chili and basil; mix well until basil wilts.
  5. Serve over rice and garnish with more basil, green onions, sesame seeds, and a fried egg.
