  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup full fat sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, panko breadcrumbs, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, allspice, nutmeg, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form mixture into meatballs (about 1¼ – 1½ inches) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry meatballs in batches until browned on all sides (5-7 minutes per batch). Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in flour to create a roux until golden.
  5. Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth; add Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Return meatballs to gravy and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Stir in sour cream and serve hot with fresh parsley.
