Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Yeast
  • Milk
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Raspberry jam
  • Custard (milk, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, cornstarch)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Melt butter and combine with warm milk; add to dry ingredients along with the egg. Knead until smooth.
  2. Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth for about an hour until doubled in size.
  3. For the custard filling, warm milk and sugar in a saucepan. In another bowl, whisk egg yolks and cornstarch; temper with warmed milk before returning to heat until thickened.
  4. After dough has risen, punch down and divide into balls. Flatten each ball, fill with custard and raspberry jam, then seal tightly.
  5. Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F). Arrange filled buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
