  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (or crispy fried onions)
  • Garlic chili sauce
  • Thinly sliced cabbage (optional)
  • Carrots (optional)
  • Bean sprouts (optional)
  • Edamame (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by steaming your frozen gyoza dumplings according to the package instructions; toss with sesame oil or water.
  2. In another bowl, mix together Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup for the dressing.
  3. Cut the heirloom tomatoes into wedges, slice the cucumber thinly, and chop the scallions. Add all these vibrant ingredients into the bowl with your dumplings.
  4. Tear the basil leaves over the top of your salad and sprinkle on toasted sesame seeds or crispy onions.
  5. Serve at room temperature, garnished with garlic chili sauce if desired.
