  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 lb beef steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups peppers, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 18 leaves iceberg lettuce
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 avocado, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing olive oil, lime juice, garlic, salt, cumin, and oregano in a large zipper bag. Add thinly sliced beef and shake to coat. Marinate overnight for best results.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef along with sliced onions and peppers, seasoning with salt and chili powder. Sauté for about 10 minutes until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  3. To assemble, overlap three lettuce leaves on a plate. Spoon the beef mixture onto the lower middle of the leaves, add avocado slices and cheese, then roll tightly from the bottom up. Fold in the sides for easy eating.
