  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1½ teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for searing)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste or ½ cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by mixing it with Greek yogurt, garlic, ginger, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the marinated chicken until golden on all sides. Remove from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in tomato paste or puree until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and stir until smooth to create a velvety sauce.
  5. Return the seared chicken to the skillet and let simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired before serving with rice or naan.
