  • 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 2/3 cup warm water
  • Pear
  • Pearl onions
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms. Cover and let sit at room temperature overnight (at least 12 hours).
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a casserole dish with olive oil.
  3. Pour the dough into the dish, gently spreading it out to fit. Dimple the surface with fingers and let it rest for another two hours.
  4. Decorate the dough with rosemary sprigs, sliced pear for the trunk, and halved cherry tomatoes and pearl onions as ornaments.
  5. Sprinkle coarse salt on top and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
