  • 5 pounds red potatoes
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons parsley (fresh, chopped) or 2 teaspoons dried
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan (grated)
  • 1 to 5 teaspoons horseradish sauce

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (20–35 minutes). Drain thoroughly.
  2. Return drained potatoes to the pot. Add milk, sour cream, salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, parsley, and Parmesan; mash until creamy.
  3. In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat until golden brown and fragrant. Pour over mashed potatoes or serve on the side.
  4. Adjust seasoning with horseradish sauce to taste and mix well before serving.
