  • ¾ cups unsalted butter ( sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooking oil, granulated sugar, and eggs; beat until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in chopped apples and pecans.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. For the caramel glaze, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and milk; bring to a gentle boil for about 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
